Frequently Asked Questions
What is Dungeon Helper?
Dungeon Helper is a plugin hosting framework. By itself, it doesn’t really do anything. It enables developers (including ourselves) to write plugins to do cool things inside DDO.
What data do you collect?
We don’t collect anything personal or identifying. If you use our Crowd Source Collector plugin, we gather some anonymous data. Please see our Privacy Policy for details.
I don’t see the toolbar ingame!
The following are the most common resolutions for this issue:
- DDO must be running in either “Windowed” or “Windowed Fullscreen” mode. The toolbar is not visible in “Fullscreen”.
- As of version 4, Dungeon Helper must be run with Administrator permissions in Windows.
- Dungeon Helper is only compatible with the 64-bit client. Please check your launcher settings for this.
What plugins do you have?
Dungeon Helper v4 ships with 4 plugins:
- Trove
- Scooper
- Mapster
- Awesome AF
How do I use the plugins?
Great question! We’re going to make a video to demonstrate how to use them.
I can sling code, can I make plugins?
Do you understand terms like SDK and Nuget? Can you code in a dotnet language? Then YES! Best way to get started is to join our discord or head to Nuget and find the VoK.Sdk package.
Does this break the DDO EULA or ToS?
Dungeon Helper itself does not, no. The potential issues come from individual plugins. SSG has a longstanding policy of “be at the keyboard” as a rule of thumb, though. You use various plugins at your own risk, though we aim for all official and pre-packaged plugins to be compliant with SSG’s official (and unofficial) policies. If you find a plugin from a one-off developer that utilizes exploits, you’re likely going to get in trouble if you use it.
