Awesome AF
Awesome Auto-Follow is the only automation tool for following characters around in Dungeons and Dragons online. You can download the latest version, or just update inside Dungeon Helper.
User Guide for AAF 3.0
Requires Dungeon Helper 4.0 or later. Options are saved per-character, Hotkeys configurations are global. Please be aware of this.
All Follow Me, Now
Default Targeting
Default targeting automatically populates the the “Player to follow” drop down control.
To enable, click Select the player in-game and then click “Add”. Character names will be selected based on the order listed in the Default Targeting List, from top to bottom.
Basic Options
These options work even if the character you are following isn’t being played on the same computer.
- Mount with Target – when the leader mounts up, so will the follower! This requires a mount be placed on a hotbar somewhere in hotbars 1 through 10. The first hotbar slot with a mount will be used.
- Pass Loot to Leader – when the follower opens a chest, any re-assignable loot is given to the leader.
- Accept [Stuff] – when these dialogs pop up from the leader, the follower will automatically accept them
- Auto Close Explorer Journals – who doesn’t want these things closed ASAP?
Same-Computer Following Options
These options are a bit more complex.
- Jump with Target – when the leader jumps, so will the follower. Please note this can get flaky at times, but we did our best here.
- I’m using a Gamepad – when using a gamepad, AAF’s direction control interferes with a Gamepad.
- Mimic NPC Dialog – when talking to an NPC on the lead character, holding down the Ctrl key when selecting dialog options will have the followers select the same options.
- Mimic Portal Usage – when opening a quest dialog panel on the lead character, the followers will attempt to do the same.
- Recall with Leader – should be self explanatory
- Mimic Object Targeting – when an object is selected by the lead character (a chest, a monster, etc), the followers will attempt to select it as well.
- Mimic Object Usage – when an object is used (doors, chests, NPCs, etc) on the lead character with the Ctrl key held down, followers will attempt to use it as well. For example, if you have this and the previous option enabled, selecting a chest and pressing Ctrl+[Use] on it will have all the characters open the chest.
- Allow Trap Disabling – when a Control Box or other disable-able object is Ctrl+[Use] by the leader, a follower will not attempt to use it by default. If you have a trapper following you, you’ll probably want to enable this on their end.
- Mimic Teleport Items – when the leader teleports with a Stormreach Commemorative D12 or an Expansion Pack Teleport item (Saltmarsh Compass, Bottle of Mist, etc), the character will attempt to do likewise. This has a restriction: the D12 and the individual targets of the Teleport item must be place on a slot in hotbars 1-10. Failure to hotbar them, or putting them on hotbars 11+ will not work!
- NEW in 3.2.2! Show Hotbar on Leader – when following, this feature allows the leader to have a hotbar just like a regular hireling. The “Hotbar to Share” will appear on the leader. If the leader has any keyboard shortcuts defined for hirelings, you can select an “Act as Hireling #” number to map to the corresponding “Hireling Bar #” set of keyboard shortcuts. AAF will automatically display the shortcuts on the toolbar if you have them defined.
- The First shortcut is for active following. You can click this to pause the follower, and they’ll stand still and do nothing.
- The second is for Auto-Attack. You must have this hotbarred on the follower somewhere in bars 1-10 for it to work in AAF.
Hotkeys
These things are the bomb. Leader commands apply to same-computer clients only.
- Start/Stop Following – Follower command. Toggles your follow state.
- Toggle Followers – Leader command. Toggles everybody following you.
- Pass All Loot to Me – Leader command. Forces followers to pass you all loot in the open chest (if applicable).
- Pass Selected Item – Leader command. Select an item, and if a follower has it, they will reassign it to you.
- Followers Loot All – Leader command. Passes all loot to you. Redundant with the “Pass Loot to Leader” option.
- Everyone Follow Me – Leader command. All other clients with characters in your vicinity will start following you.
